Obituary of SUCHE – Robin Andrea

October 3, 1964 – November 26, 2009 Robin Suche died, aged 45, the evening of Thursday, November 26, 2009 as a result of complications from diabetes and renal failure. She had been in failing health for the past few years. Born in Montreal in 1964, Robin moved to Connecticut, aged five days and subsequently to Calgary in 1967 where, except for some schooling in the U.S., she lived for the rest of her life. Robin was a “one-off” and highly individualistic. She was cooperative, uncooperative, stubborn, funny, exasperating, friendly, and gregarious, a mimic, impossible to live with, brave, and always loving to her family and friends. Most of Robin’s working career was at Wal-Mart where she made many friends and enjoyed the community. For the past three years, Robin was a resident at the Dr. Vernon Fanning Centre where she was well known and much liked, making many friends with the other residents and the caring staff. Robin leaves behind her parents, Anne and Tony; her sister Camilla in Sydney, Australia; brother Stephen; sister-in-law Monica; nephew Nicholas; nieces, Zoë and Cassandra; and many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends in Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Robin was predeceased by, among others, her beloved three-legged cat Gizmo and, in September, by her grandmother, Berenice Lucas, aged 97. A Gathering for family and friends will be held at the residence of Stephen and Monica Suche, on Sunday, December 6, 2009 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m, with a tribute to Robin at 4:30 p.m.. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. Flowers are gratefully declined. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Dr. Vernon Fanning Centre, 722 – 16th Avenue N.E., Calgary, AB T2E 6V7, 403-230-6900. Robin’s family wishes to thank the caregivers at the Fanning for looking after Robin so well. The family offers special thanks to Dr. Samuel Schorr, who gave so much of his time, and to the nurses and staff of Unit 37 at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre for their care and thoughtfulness to the entire Suche family throughout Robin’s illness. In living memory of Robin Suche, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES Chapel of The Bells, 2720 Centre Street North (403) 276-2296.
