Obituary of MANYWOUNDS – Rena Kim

December 01, 1968 – November 26, 2009 Rena Manywounds was called home suddenly on Thursday, November 26, 2009, at the age of 40 years to the creator in that beautiful garden. Rena is survived by her parents Francis and Laurette Manywounds of the Tsuu T’ina Nation. She is also survived by her sisters; Adeline (Doug), Sharon (Whalen), Livia, Janice, Janine, Shasta and special sister in law Cecilia Wesley-Manywounds. A special brother and friend Sherman Sr. (Delores). Brothers; Shane, Buddy (Nate). Special nephews; Lyndon, Trevor, Denny (Erin), Sherman Jr., Dusty, Chance, Darby, Byron, Joeyria, Koda. Nieces; Racquel and Rayshel. Great nephew, Donte and great niece Haylie. Uncles; Johnny (Lottie) Manywounds, Tom (Bev) Runner, Steven (Gloria) Runner, Frances (Gale) Cutter, Victor Cutter, Hector Cutter, Clayton (Lavina) Cutter. Aunties; Marjorie (John) Manywounds, Muriel Manywounds, Margaret Dixon, Violet (Gerald) Meguinis, Dolly (Ted) Oullette, Patsy (Jerry) Simon, Lynda (Ronald) Backfat and many more extended family from Tsuu T’ina; Manywounds, Runners, Crowchilds and Eagletails. Siksika; Cutters, Big Tobaccos, Manyguns and many more. Many exteneded family from the Nakoda Nation. Rena has a big family, but her friends were the biggest family she couldn’t have asked for more. Rena was a one of a kind, humble, caring and a very humorous character. She was known as an all around cowgirl in a cowboy’s world. Rena was friends with all who knew her; male or female. She never left the room without making somebody laugh. In the sport of rodeo, Rena excelled in many timed and rough stock events. She rode horses all her life and was always up for a challenge. She never turned down the opportunity to break horses with the boys. Besides rodeo, Rena was always up for a game of hockey and eagerly jumped in net. Our beloved tomboy, Rena will be dearly missed. Rena was predeceased by her Grandmothers; Annie Simeon and Genevieve Big Tobacco. Grandfathers; George Runner and Samuel Cutter. Uncles; Sammy Manywounds, Pete Manywounds, Floyd Runner, Roger Runner and Aunty Betty Cutter. The family apologizes for anyone missed. A special thanks to the Community members of the Tsuu T’ina Nation for their support and contributions. Wake Services will be held on Monday November 30 and Tuesday December 01, 2009 at the home of Francis and Laurette Manywounds. Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church (3700 Anderson Road S.W.) on Wednesday, December 02, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
