George was born at the Calgary General Hospital in 1937. He attended Colonel Walker and Crescent Heights Public Schools. His post secondary education comes from the University of Alberta, University of Calgary, and San Diego State University.
George started teaching at the age of nineteen in Peace River, Alberta after completing a “Junior E”, one year teaching course. After thirty nine years of teaching with the Calgary School Board he retired in 1996.

George had an additional passion in reading. He enjoyed his wonderful collection of FOLIO historical books on myriad subjects, but especially Rome and Greek History as well as philosophy.
