Obituary of MARINARO – Giuseppe

November 14, 1935 – November 17, 2009 Joe Marinaro beloved husband of Silvia Marinaro of Calgary, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on November 17, 2009 at the age of 74 years. Joe was born in Grimaldi, Cosenza, Italy on November 14, 1935. He came to Canada in 1956, where he married Silvia in Fernie, B.C. In 1958 they moved to Calgary where they began their married life together and raised their two children, Mario and Cindy. Joe was an avid sports fan, especially hockey and also loved to work in the outdoors and tend to his garden. His family was most important to him, especially his grandchildren, Ashley and Matthew. Joe was happiest in the company of his friends and family. Joe is survived by his loving wife, Silvia; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Jamie Hume; grandchildren, Ashley and Matthew; sister, Lina Marinaro(Aldo Fedrigo); brothers, Everiste (Franca), Ugo and Mario; sisters-in-law; Serafina (John)DiGeorgio, Maria Segreto, Piera (Jim) Grabas, and Alba (Vince)Fabiano; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Mario; parents, Gasparo and Assunta, nephew, Luigi and brother-in-law, Oliviero. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, 1566 Northmount Drive N.W., on Sunday, November 22, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, 1566 Northmount Drive N.W., on Monday, November 23, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queens Park Mausoleum.
