Obituary of SCHWARZ – Willi Albert

September 7, 1926 – November 17, 2009 Willi Albert Schwarz, beloved husband of 63 years to Ruth of Calgary, passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at the age of 83 years. Willi immigrated to Canada with Ruth, Klaus and Gerhard in 1951 and settled in Calgary. He touched everyone who knew him through his kindness and self-giving of his time. He was a quiet gentle loving father who always lent a hand or advice to those in need. Willi was an original founder and building of the Renfrew Baptist Church. His passion was playing the tuba for the Lord in the church band for over forty-five years. Besides his loving wife Ruth, Willi is also survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Ken (Klaus) and Grace, and Garry (Gerhard); daughter Marlene; grandchildren, Tim, Lori, Jason, and Jessica; and great granddaughter Adriyana. Willi was predeceased by his brother Gunther and sister Elisabeth (Titze). Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Sunday, November 22, 2009 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at Renfrew Baptist Church (1204 Renfrew Dive N.E.) on Monday, November 23, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
