I am saddened to read of Dr. Gunns death. He was my doctor when we lived in Calgary and delivered my children. As his patient, I can reaffirm what you already know; that he was the perfect example to the world of what both a doctor and a man should be. His easy, gentle approach instilled confidence and hope; the world is a better place for his having been a part of it.
Sincerely,
Gail Horth
Dear Rob, Barbara, John, Murray:
Please accept my condolences at your father’s passing. His warmth, patience and kindness was contagious. I always felt safe and peaceful when I was in his presence.
God bless you all and your families.
Dear John, Holly, Rob, Susan, Murray, Sandy, Barb and families,
We are so sorry to hear of Uncle Ian’s passing. I had gone to visit him at the Colonel Belcher and as usual, he was in a wonderful, cheery disposition. He still had a twinkle in his eye and was busy charming all the nurses and physiotherapists. His gentle, kind spirit will be missed. We have many wonderful memories of Uncle Ian that we will always cherish. Our love and thoughts are with you.

Dear Gunn family,
I had the pleasure to get to know your dad when he lived at the Colonel Belcher. He sat beside Neel Kamal, and because Neel does not speak, I got to have lively conversations with your dad. He told me of his life and his family, and I grew fond of his company.
He always had a smile for me…
I pray for him and your pain at your loss, he was a wonderful man…
Sincerely,
Karen Marshall

Dear John, Rob, Murray, and Families. Please accept our sincere condolences in your recent loss. Your father, father-in-law, and grandfather sounded like a wonderful loving man. Many people would wish to have a family patriarch like him. We hope you are all doing well. Eventually you will remember all the good times with him, without the hurt. Take care Sincerely Bruce and Rob Sherley
Barbara, John, Rob, Murray–I am so saddened to hear of your father’s passing and send my sincere condolences to all of you. Your father was one of the most influential people on my younger life and to this day I remember fondly playing with his stethoscope and other assorted medical tools as a child. In large measure it was he who influenced my decision ultimately to enter the field of medicine. He also helped me into med school and I still recall days working in his office as an intern—he had a wonderful way of dealing with people in a caring, compassionate manner. Truly he was the model of what a primary care physician should be. I recall fondly the hours we spent talking about the future of medicine and patients in general as he helped shape my formative years in the field. He will be sadly missed by myself and will forever hold a place in my heart.
Although it has been many years since I have seen you I hope you are all doing well. I share your loss very deeply.
