Obituary of LIPPA – Wilhelmina

November 28, 1917 – November 16, 2009 It is with deep sadness that we say goodbye to our dear mother and grandmother Minnie who passed away on Monday, November 16, 2009 in Calgary at the age of 91 years. Mom always had a warm smile for everyone. She was a people person, loved to talk to everyone, loved to listen to the news and politics, and loved to read, and above all, listen to her music. Her main joy in life was her family, friends and her faith. Born in Prince Albert, SK, her family moved to Golden, BC and then to Port Alberni where she worked in the lumber mills and tourism industry. It was here that she met her future husband Valentine. They married and moved to Coutts, AB where they farmed and ranched until Val’s passing in 1977. Minnie moved to Calgary in 1978 to be closer to her family. Those who knew Minnie, knew her as a kind and loving person who lived her life in a quiet, dignified and gentle manner. Minnie is lovingly remembered by her daughter Jeanette; son-in-law Ken; grandson Kevin; sister Anne Neufeld; sister-in-law Mary Lippa; brother-in-law Herb Jones; and numerous nieces and nephews in BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan; and relatives in the Netherlands. She was predeceased by her husband Valentine and her brothers, Henry, John and Jasper Hogeweide; and sister Teresa Jones. Graveside Service will be held at Milk River Cemetery (Milk River, AB) on Friday, November 20, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at Oak Park Church Of Christ (11263 Oakfield Drive S.W.) on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
