Obituary of UTSUNOMIYA – Lily

June 26, 1922 – November 6, 2009 We announce with great sadness the passing of Lily Utsunomiya on Friday, November 6, 2009 at the age of 87 years Lily was born in Welling, AB on June 26, 1922. The past few months of her life were filled with many difficulties, resulting from heart and kidney problems, and having to cope with a great deal of pain from bone fractures as a result of a severe case of osteoporosis. The family is grateful that the Lord in His Grace and Mercy ended her pain and suffering so she could finally rest in peace. She loved animals and always had pets. She was extremely fond of her dog “Puffy”. She was a very private and often shy person who did not display her emotions, she was proud of and cared deeply for her family. Besides her loving husband Tsugio, who took good care of her, especially during the latter part of her life, she is also survived by her children, Teresa (Tim) Utsunomiya, Larry (Sue) Villman, Lorraine (Larry) Dunn, Beverly (John) Larson, Mike (Helga) Tamagi and birth mother of Mel (Lolly) Tamagi. She was “Nanny” to twelve grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren; an aunt and great-aunt to numerous nieces and nephews. She will always be lovingly remembered by brother Hiroshi (Gus) Moriyama and sister Toshie Noda. It was Mom’s wish that a Private Family Service be held.
