Condolences
Dear Konnie,
Rather late to send condolences but I know when you read this you will still be missing your sister very much, such is the nature of loss. Just found out today. I hope you and your family are doing well and that your health is fine.
Again, sorry to hear of your loss and, of course, the loss to your dear sweet mom.
Doug Fielding
Just found out. Very hard on all family. Ried, you are not alone in your sorrow. Mom is watching out for you from above as is all family.
Dear Brian and Reid
It was with great sadness that I read of the untimely passing of your dear Edna. I was her family doc before you went to Yemen and she and I had such wonderful conversations…I actually looked forward to her coming in for her check-ups. And then when you came back to Canada again, and when Reid was born and how absolutely delighted she was ( and scared too!!!) to have this precious little one to care for. She was such a wonderful and devoted mom and she was so proud of all Reid’s accomplishments from your first tooth to your first step and on and on…
And then I left practice and we cried together as we had had a special relationship. That was nearly ten years ago and I remember her like it was yesterday…and now, what a shock to read of her passing. My heart aches for you. My deepest sympathies to you and all the members of Edna’s family. My thoughts are with you all in your time of sorrow.
with love

Although we did not get to know Edna as well as we have you, she was obviously an incredible lady who will be missed greatly by all who knew her. The world has lost a shining star – that heaven has gained – how lucky for the angels!

Brian: Janet Streight kindly contacted me in British Columbia to relate the tragic news of Edna’s passing. I have often thought about you and your family and talked about you with Peter Arnold last year. I will be back in Calgary, after a temporary and restful time in Ladysmith, B.C. just after Christmas and would hope to offer my condolences in person. I know you and your son will be of great comfort to each other during this time. I remember Edna as charming, friendly, intelligent and down to earth. She made me welcome in your home and you were a great team together. Take good care of yourself and my thoughts will be with you.
Warm regards, Jennifer White – whitejc@telus.net

I’m so sorry to hear of Edna’s passing. Many many of my childhood memories are of time spent at the farm with my cousins Konnie and Edna, and I always loved and respected Edna for the person she grew into as an adult. The sun will shine a little dimmer without her here to brighten the many lives she touched. My heart goes out especially to Auntie Enid and Uncle Karl….I love you both.
