It was with great sadness that I read of the untimely passing of your dear Edna. I was her family doc before you went to Yemen and she and I had such wonderful conversations…I actually looked forward to her coming in for her check-ups. And then when you came back to Canada again, and when Reid was born and how absolutely delighted she was ( and scared too!!!) to have this precious little one to care for. She was such a wonderful and devoted mom and she was so proud of all Reid’s accomplishments from your first tooth to your first step and on and on…

And then I left practice and we cried together as we had had a special relationship. That was nearly ten years ago and I remember her like it was yesterday…and now, what a shock to read of her passing. My heart aches for you. My deepest sympathies to you and all the members of Edna’s family. My thoughts are with you all in your time of sorrow.

I have often thought about you and your family and talked about you with Peter Arnold last year. Many many of my childhood memories are of time spent at the farm with my cousins Konnie and Edna, and I always loved and respected Edna for the person she grew into as an adult.
