Obituary of SCHAFFER – Elsie

February 8, 1919 – October 28, 2009 Elsie Schaffer passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at the age of 90 years. Elsie was born in Schuler, AB on February 8, 1919. She spent many years in Bassano where she married Ruben and her children were born. They moved to Calgary and in 1972 came to Airdrie where they operated the Home Hardware until retiring in 1983. Elsie enjoyed many happy retirement years in Airdrie and Apache Junction in Arizona. Elsie is survived by her loving daughters, Carol Treleaven of Airdrie and Donna (Gord) Kelly of Irricana; four grandchildren, Jody Treleaven, Kelly (Shelly) Treleaven, Marla Kelly and Pam (Carlo) Petrini; four great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. Elsie was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Ruben; her son-in- law, Terry Treleaven and her brothers and sisters. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Airdrie Funeral Home (300 Towerlane Drive, Airdrie, Alberta) on Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at the Airdrie Cemetery.
