Obituary of GLENN – Ann

August 11, 1916 – October 26, 2009 Ann Glenn passed away peacefully on October 26th – Freed at last from the debilitating pain of arthritis. Ann is survived by her daughter Pat, son George, son-in-law John, daughter-in-law Connie, granddaughter Heidi, great granddaughter Emily, brother Michael, sister-in-law Mildred, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews and many many friends. She met people, made friends and kept friends for life, from Saskatoon, Regina, Winnipeg and finally Calgary. She met people in the neighbourhood, through work, at church and through sports. When she and her husband, Mel, moved to Calgary they quickly became involved with St. David’s United Church as active members of the congregation and its activities. As always, tennis drew them into the community and they enjoyed years of tennis and curling at the Calgary Winter Club. As a mixed doubles duo, they were successful winners in many tournaments in the prairie provinces and continued their winning ways in the Alberta Senior Games. Ann also worked for Continuing Education at the University of Calgary – another source of making great friends. Ann was predeceased by her husband Mel (1995), her father and mother George and Catherine Egnatoff, brothers Paul, Peter, John and sisters Annie, Katherine, Mary and Nettie. Arthritis is a terrible disease for all affected. We would like to thank all those that helped Ann cope with the results of this disease and Dr. Leggett and the staff of units 71 and 73 at the Rockyview Hospital for their care and compassion during her last stay in the hospital.
