Obituary of Hunter – Viola Victoria

July 13, 1922 – October 26, 2009 In loving memory of our mother, Viola Hunter, who passed away on Monday, October 26, 2009 at the age of 87 years. She lived a full life and will be forever remembered. Viola was born in Schuler, Alberta on July 13, 1922. She was the second eldest daughter of Alberta and Phillip Lippert. Viola received her schooling in Schuler and Bassano. She lived in Medicine Hat, where she owned and operated Allen’s Confectionary and, later, the Necchi Sewing Circle. Viola subsequently moved to Calgary and began a new career in retail jewellery sales and retired from Birks Jewellery Store in 1987. Viola is survived by two daughters, Gloria (Fred) Boyle, of Calgary and Malanda Warner (Lorne Olson) of Vernon, BC. She will be missed by five grandchildren, Debbie Boyle (James Ludwar), Suzie Boyle-Collins (Kerry Collins), Selena Cox, Tamara Cox and Reuben Olson; five great-grandchildren, Madi-Leith and Macy-Brett Collins, Isaiah and Elijah Cox, and Kayla Cox. She is also survived by her sister, Florence Wonnenberg and her brother, Harold Lippert. Viola was predeceased by her husband Wilson Leslie Hunter; parents, Phillip and Alberta Lippert; her two sisters, Lenora Ackerman and Lilly Reynolds; and her brother, Ray Lippert. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queens Park Cemetery.
