Obituary of RUTTAN – John Allen

April 7, 1929 – October 26, 2009 John Ruttan of Calgary, passed away on Monday, October 26, 2009 at the age of 80 years. John was born in Hardisty, Alberta on April 7, 1929 to John E. and Loveny Ruttan. After graduating from the University of Washington with a degree in Business, John worked in the oil industry and for the Calgary Board of Education. John was very community minded. He volunteered for many organizations and had many affiliations including the Kiwanis, The Royal Victorian Order of Nurses and Sea Cadets. He also enjoyed curling , golf and played football in his earlier years. John is survived by his son, Jack of Montreal, QC., daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Marshall Abbott of Calgary and their children, Annie, Nikki and Tom. He is also survived by his sister, Doreen Sidjak of Calgary and her family. He was predeceased by wife Irene in September, 1979. A Memorial Service will be held at CHRIST CHURCH ELBOW PARK (3602 – 8th Street S.W.) on Monday, November 2, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
