Obituary of HURLBERT – Wilfred Louis

November 27, 1921 – October 25, 2009 Wilf Hurlbert, beloved husband of Gladys Hurlbert of Calgary, passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2009 at the age of 87 years. Wilf was born and raised in Redcliff, AB, he earned the nick name “Tag” from his older brother because he always followed him around. His nickname stuck with him through his proud career as a Truck Driver. Wilf’s career starting in 1953, retiring in 1980 after accumulating over a million miles. Besides his loving wife of 61 years Gladys, Wilf is survived by his three daughters and sons-in-law, Dolores and Mike Thoms, Diana Johnson and Bob McKay, and Pat McRae and Gerry Chernenkoff; son and daughter-in-law Bob and Karen Hurlbert; seven grandchildren Teresa, Natalie, Chad, Rob, Jennifer, Katlyn and Shania; five great-grandchildren Natasha, Jeremy, Elaina, Jordan and Kate. Wilf was predeceased by his brothers Arnold, Gordon and Donnie. A Celebration of Wilf’s life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Friday, October 30, 2009 at 2:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
