Obituary of MARTIN – John McLean
November 12, 1923 – October 23, 2009
John passed away peacefully after nearly 86 wonderful years, with his wife Pearl by his side.
He also leaves to mourn his children, Mercedes, John (Joyce), Barbara (Brad) Grant, Kate (John) Smith, Ruby (Ross) Matthews, Rocky Shaw, Dianna Shaw and Brett (Kellie) Shaw; twelve grandchildren and a great-grandson; his brothers, Ron (Barb) and Garth (Shaune), his sister Carlie-Jean (Eldon) Godfrey; and numerous nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his first wife, Madeline (1970); and eldest daughter Corinne (2004).
John was born in Berkley, CA and came to Canada at an early age. His schooling was in Lomond, Armada and Clive, AB. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force immediately following High School and retired with the rank of Sergeant at the end of WWII. Upon his return he attended University of Alberta and spent the majority of his life in the window industry in Calgary. He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.
