Obituary of BOYD – David

March 15, 1930 – October 21, 2009 David (Dave) Boyd of Calgary passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, October 21, 2009, with his loving family by his side after a prolonged battle with prostate cancer. Dave is survived by his loving wife of fifty six years Laura; son Davie (Oonagh Fox) and their children, Elissa, Jessica and Alec; daughter Cathy (Don Belanger) and their children, Heather, Emily and Danielle; and son Glenn (Margie Nagata) and their children, Jocelyn and Kevin. He is survived by his sister Sarah (Sally) Carmine. Dave was predeceased by his brother John, and sisters, Helen (Hutt) and Bess (Nelson). Dave was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and lifelong friend to many. Born on March 15, 1930, a native Calgarian, Dave grew up here, worked and built Soundtex Interiors into a successful business. In 1953 he married Laura and raised their family here in Calgary. Dave enjoyed an active life full of games and sports. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
