Dear Dianne and Family,

You have my sincere condolences on the loss of Wayne. He was like a father to me. Words seem inadequate to express the shock and sadness I’m feeling since you informed me on Tuesday of his untimely death 6 weeks ago. When we lose someone we love, it seems that time stands still and what moves through us is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day, one more word or just one more touch. We may not understand why Wayne left this earth so soon, or why he had to go before we were ready to say good-bye, but little by little, we begin to remember not just that Wayne died, but that he lived. And that his life gave us memories too awesome to forget. To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die. Life is eternal, and love is immortal, and death is only a horizon; and a horizon is only the limit of our sight. I’m going to miss him immensely. Take good care of yourselves and stay strong.

Diane I am sorry to learn of the passing of Wayne. It has been so many years since we enjoyed fun times together. My brother Ron had run into Wayne in Calgary and I negleted to follow up and contact Wayne. My appologies, but sadly another missed opportunity. Dear Diane,

Harold & I send our love & heartfelt sympathy to you & all Wayne’s family including Ron. This Sunday, special prayers are being said at St. Aidan’s Anglican Church. Next Sunday, the flowers on the altar will be given in Wayne’s memory from Frank & Shirley as well as ourselves. After the services the flowers will be taken to sick parishioners in order to brighten their days. Our thoughts are with you,

Recently one of my brothers sent me a picture of my Dad when he was young that I’d never seen before. It reminded me of how difficult it was when he passed away.
