Obituary of BACKHAUS – Wilfried Karl

November 7, 1946 – October 14, 2009 Wilf Backhaus of Calgary passed away after a challenging melee with cancer, on Wednesday, October 14, 2009. Wilf is lovingly remembered by his wife of thirty-nine years, Christine (nee Donlevy), his son, Brian; his daughter Marie-Claire and her husband Kyle Gould; and granddaughter Robin. He is also survived by his sister Helga, her husband Dale Roh, niece Tara and nephew Jason. Wilf made an indelible mark upon this world as a creator of games and writer of books and scripts. He inspired his MBA students and colleagues at the U of Maryland (UC). Wilf was also a fair and well regarded practitioner of law and wore many other hats in his life, including being a Baron in the S.C.A., a Knight of Columbus, a school and library trustee and a fencing champion. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at St. Michael The Archangel Catholic Church (4718 Worcester Drive S.W.) on Monday, October 19, 2009 at 8:15 P.M.
