Obituary of Millicent McKANNA

April 13, 1928 – October 9, 2009 Millicent McKanna beloved wife of Robert McKanna of Calgary and formerly of Lethbridge, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, October 9, 2009 at the age of 81 years. Millicent was a very caring wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be dearly missed. Millicent is survived by her loving husband Robert of fifty seven years; daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Bob Matisz of Calgary and their children Jason and Cheryl (Shane) Hewitt; son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Rosemary McKanna of Calgary and their son Christopher; son and daughter-in-law, Cary and Cathy McKanna of Pitt Meadows, BC and their daughter Carolynne; two great-grandchildren, Carter and Callie Hewitt; sister, Lorraine (Norman) Hall of Lethbridge, AB.; sisters-in-law, Lucille Perry of Lethbridge, AB. and Jean Welsh of Fort MacLeod, AB; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by an infant daughter, Carolyne; her parents, Alice and John Speaker; brother Edward; and her sister, Alice Young. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Wednesday, October 14, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Corpus Christi Catholic Church (Corner of 4th Street and Northmount Drive N.W.) on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. A Private Family Graveside Service will take place in Lethbridge at a later date.
