Obituary of EDWARDS – John Oliver

February 24, 1938 – October 7, 2009 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father John Oliver Edwards on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 in the township of Tema, Ghana, Africa at the age of 71. John was born in Surrey, England, and relocated with his mother to Montreal, QC, following the end of the Second World War. He moved to Calgary in the 80’s and worked in the Oil and Gas industry for thirty years. John’s family meant the world to him. He dedicated much of his time to his children’s activities where he would spend countless hours volunteering and participating in their lives when ever he could. John had an enthusiasm for life and enjoyed his role as a grandfather greatly. We will miss his generous heart, his unconditional love and gregarious ways. John was predeceased by his parents Albert Edwards and May (Fedrock) and is survived by his brother Jim Fedrock of Montreal, QC; children Jim Edwards (Donna Krupa, Randi and Brittany), Michael Edwards (Jussara) of New York, Sandra Edwards (Patrick Cassidy), Brigitte Edwards (Marianne Merrill), Misty Elston (Sheldon Zacharias), Heidi Edwards Otteson (Adrian); eight grandchildren, Grant and Madison Edwards, Victoria and Nicholas Cassidy, Taylor and Alexandra Zacharias, and Ethan and Hunter Otteson. A Celebration of John’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Friday, October 23, 2009 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
