Betty:

I was saddened to read of Arthur’s passing in the Herald today. He was a fine musician and an admired colleague. As you know, during the seventies, his studio at Mount Royal was beside mine and we frequently shared a laugh and exchanged musical ideas when not instructing our students. My life, and the lives of many Calgarians, were enriched by him. My sincere sympathy.

I was in Arthur’s St. Peter’s Choir in the mid eighties when we lived in Calgary. I remember him fondly as our director and as a friend. Since we returned to Ontario we have exchanged Christmas cards and always enjoyed news of your Scottie dogs. Both Stephen and I send our most sincere condolences to you at this difficult time.
