May 18, 1916 – September 22, 2009 Glen Waterhouse passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at the age of 93 years. Wilfred Glen Rhodes was born May 18, 1916 near Carberry, MB and grew up on farms in the Pleasant Point and Melbourne districts, attending a country one-roomed school with his sisters and brother. After being posted to various Eastern and Western Canadian Airfields, he retired from the R.C.A.F. and they settled permanently in Calgary, AB. He then worked a few years for Canada Post and the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (S.A.I.T.). Although he had his share of life’s problems, Glen remained positive and enjoyed life. He had lived in his own home until October 2008. Glen is survived by his granddaughter Miranda; daughter-in-law Diane Waterhouse; two sisters and brother-in-law, Margaret and Robert Mitchell, and Agnes Dickson; sister-in-law Thelma Waterhouse, all of Carberry, MB; and step-granddaughters, Melanie and Megan. Many dearly loved nieces and nephews also survive Glen, and well as his wife, Marjorie’s sister and nieces and nephews of her five deceased sisters and two deceased brothers.
