Obituary of JOHANSON – E.R.

December 9, 1928 – September 19, 2009 Johanson, E.R. “Jo” passed away at Rockyview hospital on Saturday 19 September 2009 at the age of 80. He was predeceased by his brother Fred and Fred’s wife Elsie and his former wife and lifelong friend Bonnie Cook Barber. He is survived by his brother Carl and his sister in law Leslie of Natick MA. Jo was born at Booth Memorial Hospital in New York City. Prior to his professional music career, Jo was a dental hygienist in the US Air Force. When the officials discovered his ability to entertain, he became part of the USO shows for the military and traveled overseas entertaining the troops. He moved to Calgary in 1973 and enjoyed careers in communications at Mount Royal College, advertising for CFCN radio and television and continued his career as a professional musician. Over the past three years Jo made new friends with the staff at Foothills and Rockyview hospitals as well as Wentworth Manor. We recognize their kindness and care. Thank you all.
