Obituary of DESCOTEAUX – Jean Ruth

August 10, 1922 – September 15, 2009 Our beloved Mother, Grandma, Great Grandma and friend, Jean Ruth Descoteaux (Graham), passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at the age of 87 years. Jean was born in Toronto, ON where she met and married Robert Graham. While living there, she was blessed with six sons. The family moved to Edmonton in 1953 where again, she was blessed with another son. In 1956, Calgary then became home where the family settled in Bowness. At that time, the eighth son joined the family. In 1987, Jean married Peter Descoteaux with whom she shared many travel adventures. Jean was passionate about many things in life. Her love of all types of music was passed to her children and grandchildren. She held a deep appreciation for good literature and literacy which also influences her family. Humour and a true sense of fun were important to Jean. Her infectious laugh could be heard whenever there was a gathering. Jean is survived by her eight sons, Bob, Mike, Terry, Jack, Fred, Sam, Dan, and Bill, and their wives and families. She will continue to be adored by her twelve grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Jean was predeceased by Robert Graham Sr. in 1996 and Peter Descoteaux in 1988. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Saturday, September 19, 2009 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. A Celebration of Jean’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Monday, September 21, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through . Acheson and the staff of the Forest Grove Care Centre where Jean resided the past few years. We appreciate the loving care extended to her there.
