Obituary of PALMER – Florence Roberta

September 9, 1941 – September 2, 2009 Florence Roberta Palmer (nee McIntyre), beloved wife of Frank Palmer of Calgary, passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at the age of 67 years. Florence was born in Drumheller, AB on September 9, 1941 to parents Daniel and Lily McIntyre. Mom had a smile that would light up the room. She was also very proud of and loved her children and grandchildren very much. She was strong willed, and would extend herself to those in need. She loved to travel and enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially in the mountains. Always a fighter – nothing would hold Mom back- “if there was a will – there was a way”. This spirit and love for life carried her though a lengthy struggle with kidney disease, being a successful recipient of a kidney transplant for over 27 years. Mom loved music, and played the piano for many years. She also loved to knit and crochet, and was passionate about her genealogy. Mom was also a huge advocate for FASD children. Besides her loving husband Frank, she is survived by children Frank LJ Palmer (Frances), Michele Palmer Spring (Al), Richard Palmer, and Shannon Palmer; grandchildren Jeffery, Tiffanie, Virginia, Kristina, Drew, Kaitlyn, and Tyler; as well as numerous extended family members and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Eastside Memorial Chapel (5388 Memorial Drive N.E.) on Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at 7:00 p.m., with visitation beginning at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Grace Italian and English Catholic Church (1714 – 14th Avenue N.E.) on Thursday, September 10, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside Service to follow in the Garden of the Good Shepherd at Mountain View Memorial Gardens.
