Obituary of GAUTHIER – Gladys Lorena

June 23, 1923 – August 21, 2009 Gladys Gauthier passed away on Friday, August 21, 2009 in at the age of 86 years. Gladys was born in Gravenhurst, ON and raised in Mac Tier. She moved to North Bay in 1942 where she spent most of her life. Gladys relocated to Calgary, AB in 1997, after suffering a debilitating stroke, and spent the past twelve years with her daughter and son-in-law. One of the highlights of her life was a vacation she took to Hawaii to celebrate her 80th birthday. Gladys is survived by her son Ed Fitchett of Ottawa, ON; daughter Tracy (Oreste) Mettimano of Calgary; grandson Bradley Fitchett of Ottawa, ON; and sisters, Ada Fitchett and Mary Werney both of Mac Tier, ON. Gladys was predeceased by her husband Edgar Gauthier, brothers Lyle, Wilfred and Fred Fitchett and her parents John and Evangeline Fitchett. Funeral Services will be held at McGuinty Funeral Home (591 Cassells Street) North Bay, ON on Monday, August 31, 2009 at 2:30 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
