Obituary of TSUJI – Mitsuo

June 3, 1929 – August 10, 2009 Mits Tsuji, beloved husband of Kim Tsuji of Calgary, passed away on Monday, August 10, 2009 at the age of 80 years. Born in Vancouver, BC, Mits lived most of his life in the cherished community of Raymond, AB. Fifty-eight years in that small town with a huge heart served him throughout his life with a sense of gratitude, humility and quiet strength that would characterize the Mits Tsuji we all knew. We will all miss him profoundly as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, neighbour, 2nd degree black belt judo competitor and instructor, passionate fisherman, advocate for the youth, builder, gardener, worker for various agricultural organizations, dedicated farmer, skilled woodworker, painter / wallpaper hanger, and loyal Raymond Buddhist Church Member. We are grateful for his love and the inspiration he provided to make us all dig deeper and reach higher. Besides his loving wife Kim, Mits will be deeply missed by his children, Jeffrey (Jackie), Kathryn (Christopher) Millich and Tamara (James) Dalton; and treasured granddaughter Kenzie Dalton. His family, immediate and extended, were his greatest pride and joy. Also left to mourn are siblings Sadie (Ted) Higo, Kin Matsuno, Yukio Tsuji, Ray (Lena) Tsuji, and Midori (Ken) Tanaka. Brothers-in-law, Hideo (Marian), Ron and John (Lois) Fukushima; as well as sisters-in-law, Michie (Hunk) Takaguchi, Jean (Doug) Webster and Judy Fukushima are survivors as well as many nieces and nephews. Mits was predeceased by parents Asakichi and Kimi Tsuji; infant brother Hisao, parents in law Hisako and Torazo Fukushima ; and brothers-in-law, Hisashi Matsuno and Harry Fukushima. A Memorial tea with will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E., Calgary, AB) on Saturday, August 15, 2009 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
