Obituary of MEDICINE SHIELD – Brandon David

April 3, 1993 – August 9, 2009 Brandon Medicine Shield, was called home by our Creator on August 9, 2009 at Siksika Nation, Alberta. Brandon is survived by his loving parents, Eldred Hornberger and Georgette Medicine Shield; sisters Angie (John) Perdo, Deanna (Gonzallo) Geggaro, Danae (Andy) Frew, Destiny Medicine Shield and Maria Medicine Shield; brothers Weston (Kelly) Hornberger and Justin McMaster. Aunties Twyla (Dennis) Watcheston, Sheila Watcheston, Melody Wilms, Francine (Jack) Medicine Shield, Alanna (Owen) Many Bears, Krista (Tyler) White, Lorna (Bob) Philips, Leila (Pat) Heibert, Sharee (Ron) Janke; Uncles Shawn Pelletier, James (Crystal) Many Bears, Morris (Charlene) Many Bears, Gilbert (Joan) Hornberger and Ross (Gayle) Hornberger as well as numerous relatives and friends of the Siksika Nation, Bassano and Rosemary communities. Brandon was predeceased by paternal grandparents George and Ula Hornberger and maternal grandparents Aloysius and Frances Many Bears. Brandon was raised in Bassano and Siksika Nation surrounded by a close knit family and attended Bassano School where he participated in many sports activities with close relatives and friends. Brandon was known for his great sense of humor, his “Good Looks” and competitive nature which enabled him to excel in sports such as Track and Field, Hockey, Golf and loved Music, the Outdoors and Spending time with family and friends. He will be lovingly remembered by all who knew him. Wake Services will be held at the Little Washington Community Centre (Siksika Nation, AB) on Friday August 14, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at Little Washington Community Centre Siksika Nation, AB on Saturday August 15, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Little Washington Cemetery (Siksika Nation, AB).
