Obituary of QUIRING – Della Jane

August 28, 1918 – August 9, 2009 Della Quiring of Calgary, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2009 at the age of 90 years. Della was born August 28, 1918 in Langbank, Saskatchewan. She graduated from the Canadian Bible College in Regina, SK and later joined the College faculty, cooking for the staff and students. Della met her husband Albert in Regina, while he was singing with a men’s quartet and they were married on June 16, 1951. They began their married life in Moose Jaw, SK where they raised four children, before coming to Calgary in 1962. Della’s greatest gift to others was to cook and entertain, always welcoming others into her home. She loved to visit over a coffee and dessert with her many friends and family. In September 2003 Della moved to Trinity Lodge, where she made many new friends, enjoying numerous activities. Della was a very loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a faithful member of First Alliance Church and her trust in God guided and comforted her throughout the years. Della is survived by her loving children, son Wayne (Marion), and their children Jamie and Mark, son Brian; daughter Jan(Doug) McNichol and their children Tyler (Heather), Dustin, Kyle and Scott; son Garry (Marlene); her sister Eunice (Byrne) Moore of Saskatoon, SK., as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members. She was predeceased by her husband Albert in 1996.
