June 6, 1989 – August 7, 2009 iitayi’nokomita – Lucky Horse Benjamin Phillip “Ben” Bull Bear, of Siksika Nation, AB, beloved Father of Karneillia Lagrelle, passed away suddenly on Friday, August 7, 2009 at the age of 20 years to be with our Creator- “Apistotoki”. Ben was born and raised in Calgary. He always had a big smile on his face and was friendly and kind to people that knew him. Ben’s spare time was spent playing PS2, XBOX 360 and computer games with his buddies and cousins, Mick and Tye. Ben enjoyed spending quality time with his one and only baby girl Karneillia, who was his pride and joy. He also enjoyed going for walks, riding his bike, hanging out with family, learning new things, and most of all- he enjoyed going to school where he excelled in academics at Bow Valley College. Benjamin was the loving son of Sherry Bull Bear and Fabian Yellow Old Woman; brother of Chris (Frances), Annette (Harry), and Danielle (Paul); grandson of Rachel Erminskin, John Yellow Old Woman, Lorraine Stevens (Mike), Robert Wolf Leg (Josephine); Great-grandson of Irene Bull Bear; great-nephew of Helen Medicine Traveller; beloved nephew of Mavis (Alex) Crow Child, Darlene (Cody) Yellow Old Woman – Munro, Karen Ayoungman, Adrian (Georgina) Yellow Old Woman, Trent (Norma) Three Eagles, Marcia (Mark) Big Snake, Kirby Yellow Old Woman, John (Janice) Yellow Old Woman, Joe (Shannon) Yellow Old Woman, Liza (Tom) Yellow Old Woman, Cherylene (Dion) Red Gun, Wanda Bull Bear, Stacey (Eric) Many Heads, Trisha Cutter, Quinton Bull Bear. He is also survived by extended members of the Bull Bear, Cutter, Running Bird, Yellow Old Woman, Red Gun, Many Guns, Big Tobacco, Rabbit Carrier, Scalplock, Fox, Cutmane, Jerry, White, Wolf Leg, Eagle Tail, One Spot and Red Gun families. Ben was predeceased by paternal great-grandparents Dominic and Clara Yellow Old Woman, maternal great-grandparents Harry and Rosaria Red Gun, maternal great-grandfather Harry Bull Bear, and cousin Dion (DJ) Bull Bear, as well as numerous extended relatives. The family wishes to apologize for anyone that may have been missed. Wake Services will be held at the Sister Celine Memorial Parish Hall (Siksika Nation, AB) on Thursday, August 13, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Trinity Catholic Church (Siksika Nation, AB) on Friday, August 14, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Little Chicago Cemetery.
