Obituary of BRASS – Diana Lee

November 7, 1967 – August 3, 2009 It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of Diana Lee Brass, beloved wife of Samuel Red Old Man of the Siksika Nation, AB on Monday, August 3, 2009. Diana was born on Tuesday, November 7, 1967 in Calgary, AB to Lydia Brass and the late Morris Brass. Diana graduated from County Central High School in Vulcan, AB. She received her Business Administrative Diploma from Lethbridge College and then obtained her Junior Petroleum Technologist Certificate from S.A.I.T. She was an employee of the Siksika Nation Administration for twenty-two years. She started as Gas Station Manager for Turbo, Land Administer for Siksika Land Management, Office Administer for Siksika Media and Benefits Administrator for the Siksika Tribal Administration. Diana is survived by her husband Samuel; children, Todd (Karalie), Sage, Jr, Tristan, Connor, and Jerica; grandchildren, Charli and Reiko; siblings, Theresa, Maurice, Sharon (Dwayne), Candace, Feather and Fawn, Eldon (Alvina) Weasel Child; uncle Robert Brass; aunts, Evelyn Weasel Head and Ruth (Balaint) Majoros; extended families of the Brass, Rabbit Carrier, Stranglingwolf, and Scout families; as well as numerous in-laws and friends. She was predeceased by father Morris Brass; nephew Kenzie Big Old Man; grandparents, Dick and Emma Brass, James Blackface and Martha Big Tobacco. At Diana’s request there will be no Wake Service. A Celebration of Diana’s Life will be held at St. John the Divine Anglican Church (Siksika Nation, AB) on Friday, August 7, 2009 at 1:00 pm. Graveside Service to follow at Crowfoot Cemetery (Siksika Nation, AB). Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. The family would like to thank Dr. Lupichuk and staff at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre and Dr. Tsoi and staff of Unit 44 and 43 at the Peter Lougheed Hospital.
