Patty and family: So sorry to hear this news. Our thoughts are with you today as you celebrate Howard’s life and your 47 years of memories.
Howard was one of the original old guard in the business. He was smart and funny and always kept us on our toes – you could never be sure what he would ask you in a meeting and it made us do our homework before hand. When I tell stories of my early career there is always one about Howard. He made a big impact on many of us.
My sincerest sympathy to his family.

Condolences to the family from a fellow geologist.
How sad to lose Howie – such a gentle man with that warm smile.Happy memories from FIOSS days come to mind. Just want you to know you are in my thoughts. Bev
We were saddened to read that Howard had passed away. Our main contact with Howard was through minor hockey when he coached our son on a pee wee team. He was a great coach who emphasized playing the game ahead of winning the game. Every player got his fair share of ice time regardless of skill level. We extend our sympathies.

I was very saddened to hear of Howard’s passing. I have known him since 1966 when I first joined Pan American. I am sending this note from Nova Scotia so unfortunately will not be able to attend the celebration of his life on August 9th. I will miss Howard at the Calgary Amoco monthly lunches which he always attended on a regular basis even up to January of this year. May he rest in peace – he was a great guy.

Howard was diciplined ,curios, knowledgable and never complained if something did not work, he would just deal with it.
Many people could not deal with Howard
, it was their loss. I’ll miss him.
I am saddened to hear that Howard is gone. I will not be able to make it to the celeration of his life. Neither will his friend Doug Lavoie. Both of us send our heartfelt condolences and regrets but have previous commitments.
Howard hired me from the U of S in 1962 and I will forever be beholden to him for doing this. Pan American/ Amoco was the greatest.
Even though we have not kept in touch I still remember Howard as one of the best.
Sincerely
Murray Larson and Doug Lavoie

Howard was my first supervisor at Amoco and it’s because of him that I learned the ropes quickly at the old shop. I am very sorry to hear of Howard’s passing. May he rest in peace.
Thank you Howard.
