Obituary of SKODE – Bernard Thomas

December 19, 1923 – July 28, 2009 Bernie Skode beloved husband of Margaret Skode of Calgary, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at the age of 86 years. Bernie was a member of the RCAF and flew as a bombardier navigator with the Iroquois Squadron during WWII. Bernie also graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce from UBC. After university Bernie reenlisted with the RCAF and following his military career he spent time working for the Federal Government. Even though he has been taken away from us so soon, his legacy will live on forever. Besides his loving wife Margaret, Bernie is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law Lorne and Liz, Greg and Lisa, David and Karen; six grandchildren Elyssa, West, Cole, Matthew, Shawn and Layne. Bernie was predeceased by his brother Alvin and sister Evelyn. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens.
