Obituary of Bertha Anne Sentes

Bertha Anne Sentes (nee Vancha) passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2009 in Calgary, AB at the age of 88 years. Bertha was born in Arbury, SK on October 15, 1920 and lived near Cupar until the family relocated to Regina. She graduated from Sacred Heart Academy High School in Regina, and later attended Secretarial School. She began her working career as a secretary at the Saskatchewan Department of Highways. Bertha married Tony Sentes in 1952. After taking some time off to raise their son, Bertha returned to work as a secretary at Canada Life Insurance Company for almost twenty years, before retiring in 1982. She relocated to Calgary in 2002 to be near her son and family. Bertha is survived by her son David and his wife Coralynn; grandchildren Alanna and Greg; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends. She was predeceased by her husband Tony Sentes in 1971; mother Emma Vancha (nee Druskovitz); father William Vancha and brother Andy Vancha. Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Regina, SK at Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church (2049 Scarth Street) on Monday, July 20, 2009 at 12:00 p.m. Graveside service to follow at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery.
