Obituary of John Joseph Kish

John J. Kish, beloved husband of Dr. Marilyn Kish of Calgary, passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at the age of 68 years, after a long and valiant struggle with prostate cancer. John’s desire to serve the Lord enabled him to devote himself to many ministries including: CUPS, MOC, Hineni and Christian Children’s Fund. He was also part of the founding group of the Health Plus Medical Clinic. John served on the board of Bonavista Evangelical Missionary Church, and showed a deep love and passion for his church home. All who knew John knew him as a man of integrity. “John was a man who was deeply loved and yet will be remembered as a man who loved deeply.” John was married to his beloved wife Marilyn for almost forty-two years. In addition to Marilyn, he is survived by his two sons and his daughters-in-law, Brad and Derrien and Scott and Vanessa; and his six grandchildren, Matthew, Evan, Nicola, Megan, Jason, Alex. He is survived by his sisters and brother-in-law; Anne and Stuart Dickout, Veronica Forbes, and his sister-in-law Lorraine Kish. John was proud of his numerous nieces and nephews as well as many grand-nieces and grand-nephews. In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by his brother Andy Kish, brother-in-law Murray Forbes and infant siblings, Mary and Steve Kish.
