Obituary of Sarah Marguerite Carr

Sarah (Sally) Carr of Calgary passed away on Monday, July 13, 2009. Sally was born in New Jersey, USA, attending school in Vancouver and Calgary. She studied the piano with Gladys McKelvie Egbert, continuing her music studies in New York and Toronto. After gaining the A.T.C.M., L.R.S.M. and L.T.C.M. diplomas, Sally taught piano for a number of years. Later she graduated from the University of Calgary with both a Bachelor of Education and a Diploma of Education and then taught for the Calgary Board of Education until her retirement. She was an ardent supporter of the Arts and the Anglican Church. Sally is survived by her sister Carlina Carr of London, England; nephew C. Philip Carr and his family of Calgary; niece Madelaine Macleod and her family of Duncan, BC; as well as her treasured cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Wm H. and Marguerite Carr; her brother C. Wm Carr; and sister-in-law Lillian M. Carr. Funeral Services will be held at St. Stephen’s Anglican Church (1121 – 14th Avenue S.W.) on Friday, July 17, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Services to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
