Obituary of Thomas James Blenkhorn

It is with a heavy heart, the family of Thomas J. Blenkhorn, announce his passing on Saturday, July 11, 2009 after a courageous 6 year battle with cancer. Tom has been involved in the Insurance Industry for over 35 years. He started out his career in Toronto then moving to Calgary in 1979. He has spent the last 16 years with Marsh Canada. Through his years working in the Insurance Industry he has met and made some incredible colleagues and friends. Tom enjoyed various activities from playing hockey, baseball and golf. He belonged to the Pinebrook G.C.C., where he enjoyed many a round with friends. His highlight of golf was when he teed it up at Pebble Beach. Tom also enjoyed travelling which he tried to do as much as possible. Over the years, Tom has made an impact on the lives of many people through work and his personal life. Thank you for all your support and love. Tom is survived by his loving wife Debbie (nee: Flint), his beloved children Tara (Jody), Kimberly, Deanne and Tyler; his three cherished grandchildren Corbin, Colten and Kaitlynn. Also survived by his sister Pat (Charles) McCrae; nephews Mike (Jen), Matthew (Kelly), and Ken (Diana); father and mother-in-law, John & Dolores Flint, brother-in-law, Jim Flint; nephews Jason (Patti), and Jeff. Tom was predeceased by his parents, James & Mae Blenkhorn. Funeral Services will be held at Centre Street Church Main Campus (3900 – 2nd Street N.E.) on Thursday July 16, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens.
