Obituary of Luciel Shirley Bross

Luciel Shirley Bross beloved wife of Edward Bross of Calgary, passed away after a short illness with family at her side on Friday, July 10, 2009 at the Rockyview Hospital at the age of 71 years. God gave her a second chance in 1947 and she took full advantage of it. Luciel was born on the family farm near Tuffnell, SK on January 12, 1938. She attended Echo Lake School in the Layco District, north of Tuffnell, SK. After completing school, she worked at the Flin Flon, MB Hospital as a caregiver, and in Winnipeg, MB as a waitress, and from there moved to Saskatoon, SK. Luciel moved to Alberta in 1962, marrying her husband Ed in 1966. She was an excellent Norwegian baker, and enjoyed coffee time with everyone, especially her friend Gillian. Luciel was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Nothing excited her more than the news that a new baby was coming. Everyone who knew her will miss her dearly. Besides her loving husband Ed, Luciel is also survived by daughter and son-in-law, Colleen and Don McCreadie; son and daughter-in-law, Darcy and Nicole Bross; grandchildren, Meagan (Tyler) Gagnon, Travis and Kyley McCreadie, and Mairead Bross; and great-grandchildren, Parker and Cadence Gagnon. Luciel is remembered by brothers, Herb (Ann), Ray (Jane), Lawrence (Shirley), and Glen (Bev); sisters, Stella (Matt) Tomyn, Esther (Steve) Tomyn, Hazel Popadynec, and Elsie Domeij; brothers-in-law, Ray and Bert Bross; sister-in-law Nell (Richard) Murphy, and Vicki, wife of the late Carl Arneson; and a large extended family. Luciel was predeceased by her mother Marit; father Henry; brother Carl, brothers-in-law Emerson Domeij, and Raymond Popadynec; and nephews Bradley Domiej and Larry Tomyn.
