Obituary of Albert Befus

Albert Befus passed away after a valiant struggle with cancer at the Chinook Hospice on Friday, July 10, 2009 at the age of 83 years. Albert was born in Calgary. He was a member of the Bowness Lions Club for thirty-five years and had won many awards, including the Melvin Jones Award. Albert is lovingly remembered by his four children, Larry (Robin) Befus, Judy (Reg) McNish, Michael (Charlene) Befus and David Befus, all of Calgary; brother Peter (Clem) of Winnipeg; sister Eileen Dahl of Calgary; grandchildren, Liana (Neven) Eddy, Koralee (John) Loria and Corry DeVos ; five great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and best friend Nellie Befus. He was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Katherine; brothers, Roy, Danny and Eddy; and sisters, Mary Hettinger, Polly Platt, Katie Heddinger.
