Obituary of Alfred Forkheim
Alfred Forkheim loving husband of Mary Forkheim of Calgary, passed away on July 5, 2009 at the age of 79 years. Alf was born December 18, 1929 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He was a gifted athlete, playing football with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers before pursuing his career as a chartered accountant. Alf worked for many years as CFO of Finance at the Foothills Hospital, retiring in 1985. He was a man of strong Roman Catholic faith and was devoted to his family. He loved to spend time at the family cabin at Sylvan Lake and to golf whenever possible. Alfred is survived by his loving wife Mary; daughter Louise (James) Smith; sons Paul, Terry (Karen), Michael (Hilarie), Alan (Margaret) and Mark Forkheim; grandchildren Jeremy (Kate), Cory (Rebekah), Shawn (Amber), Dallas (Jason), Carl, Dylan, Erica, Mikaela, Erica, Lexi, Jordan, Tyler and Cole; great grandson William; Sisters Mary Bedard and Loretta (Barry) Hollins as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Felix and Pauline; and his brother Anthony. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Lukes Catholic Church (1566 Northmount Drive N.W.) on Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
