Obituary of Helen Winnifred Martin

Helen Martin of Calgary, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 29, 2009 at the age of 86 years, after a lengthy illness. A native Calgarian, she will be missed by all who knew her. Active throughout her life, Helen was a basketball player as a girl, an avid bowler as an adult and always involved in the Winston Heights Mountview community. Helen is survived by her three children, Lois (Bob) Bayly, Stan (Kathe Jacek) and Bob (Cathy); her grandchildren, Keith Bayly (Evelyn Dolen), Lyle (Donna) Bayly, Karen (Craig) Friesen, David, and Jonathan; and her new great grandson Warner Friesen. Helen was predeceased by her husband Sid in 2000. A Memorial Service will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Saturday, July 4, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
