Obituary of Thomas Carrick
It is with great sadness that the family wishes to announce the peaceful passing of Thomas on Saturday, June 27, 2009 at the age of 82 years.
Thomas’ strength and determination were an inspiration to all who knew him. His life revolved around many special friendships ranging over decades – from coast to coast and abroad in England, his place of birth. He will be remembered with fondness and respect by all those whose lives he touched. Professionally, Thomas worked for the Calgary Board of Education for many years as a teacher and principal. He was a proud member of the Mason’s.
Thomas will be greatly missed by his brother Ronnie (Shirley), sister Joan (Michael) Hickey; nieces, Tracy Valko (Bruno) and Deborah Hall Chancery (Robert) and their children, Brendan, Meghan, Colton and Cruz, who loved their uncle dearly.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Betty Irene (nee Dargie), father Thomas Carrick, parents Isobel (nee Orde) and Luke Hall and by his niece Michaela Hickey.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
