Obituary of John David Sawatzky

John David Sawatzky, beloved husband of Katherine Sawatzky of Calgary, passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2009 at the age of 87 years. John immigrated to Canada with his family in 1923 from Chortitza, Russia; and worked for many years as an accomplished master electrician. John is survived by his loving wife of sixty-four years, Katherine, and their children; Doreen (Gerry) Thornton of Calgary, A.B.; Phyllis (Bob) Dalton of Victoria, B.C.; Robert (Roberta) Sawatzky of Kelowna, B.C.; Thomas (Goranka) Sawatzky of Calgary; John also leaves behind his eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren, as well as his sister Margarita Evans. John was predeceased by his son Jack, and his two brothers, Abe and Henry Sawatzky.
