Obituary of Robert E. BoB Harris
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bob Harris on Sunday, June 21, 2009 at the age of 83 years, following a brief battle with cancer.
Bob is survived by his loving wife Alorna; children Margo, Keith (Kathy), and Brian (Sharon); grandchildren Lisa, Janay, Mark, Anthony, Ashley, Amanda, and James; great-grandchildren Wade, Kai, and Max; and cousin Peggy and her children Mary and Pat. Bob was predeceased by his parents, Clifford and Edith Harris; daughter Gail and ex-wife Phyllis.
He was born and raised in Sedgewick, AB, and joined the Canadian Navy in 1944 at the age of 19 years. Bob worked hard throughout his life in the oil fields, refinery construction and dam building in BC, and as a drill bit recovery specialist until his retirement. He continued working as a Commissionaire at the Peter Lougheed Hospital and later did small construction and renovation jobs for friends until ill health forced him to slow down in the past year.
“Within our hearts, the ones we love are never really gone. In spirit and in memory, their legacy lives on”
A Celebration of Bob’s life will be held at a later date. Please forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
