Obituary of Ada Basso

Ada (nee Civitarese), beloved wife of Pietro of Calgary, passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2009 at the age of 77 years. Ada was born in San Leonardo, Chieti, Italy on April 3, 1932. Ada immigrated to Canada in 1959. She met her husband Pietro Basso and they married in 1962. Throughout her life, Ada took great pride in her talented ability as a seamstress. Her work with furs and the design of clothing brought compliments from many. Ada loved to cook, especially for her family and friends and was the center of many memorable family gatherings. She loved her family with the greatest enthusiasm, always giving and always cheerful. Besides her loving husband Pietro, Ada is also survived by her daughter Emily; son-in-law Rob; grandsons, Marcus and Matteo; and her sisters, Regina (Giuseppe) Izzo, Ersilia (Dolfino) Sichirollo; and many nieces and nephews and their families in Calgary and Italy. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Corpus Christi Catholic Church (Corner of 4th Street and Northmount Drive N.W.) on Thursday, June 25, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
