Brenda Hood

Obituary of Brenda Hood

It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Brenda, beloved wife of Dave Crowshaw and stepmother of Chad and Mitch with her family by her side on Saturday, June 20, 2009. Brenda was born in Lethbridge, Alberta on October 22, 1953 and lived most of her life in Calgary. She attended her junior years of schooling in Calgary and obtained her Bachelors Degree from Carlton University in Ottawa, Ontario and her Masters Degree from the University of Alberta in Edmonton. Brenda’s career was extremely important to her. It spanned over three decades and she was regarded by her colleagues, and in particular those at RLG International, as an accomplished professional with unwavering loyalty, energy and dedication. With RLG, she traveled the globe to implement projects and train corporate managers everywhere from Houston to Europe. Later in life, Brenda and Dave traveled the world, the more remote and exotic the better, in search of new adventures. Brenda’s spirit of adventure was unparalleled, willing to experience or try anything. Like her father Stan, who predeceased her in 2001, she had a passion for many sports and the great outdoors. She loved the peace of the mountains and all of God’s grandeur. She was an avid golfer and a proud member of the Board of Directors of the Glencoe Club for a number of years. She had a deep love of family and friends including all her ski and golf buddies. Brenda was much loved and will be missed by her extended family and friends. We have all been blessed to have Brenda in our lives and are now comforted knowing that she has passed through the Gates of Heaven and is now in the Lord’s hands. Brenda is survived by her mother Sophie Gajecki and her sister Regina (Barry) Singleton. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church (4718 Worcester Drive S.W.) today, June 23, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church (4718 Worcester Drive S.W.) on Wednesday, June 24 2009 at 11:00 a.m. A celebration of Brenda’s life to follow.
