Obituary of Marie Williams

Marie Williams, beloved wife of Louis, passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2009 after a long, courageous and fierce battle with cancer at the age of 76 years. Marie was born on March 10, 1933, in Prudhomme, Saskatchewan. She graduated from St. Paul’s Nursing School and began a long career as a Registered Nurse in Saskatchewan and Alberta. Marie loved to travel. One most noted adventure included a trip to Peru and Bolivia in 1995. Marie also enjoyed many trips south with her companion and husband Louis. Her hobbies included sewing, knitting, hiking, traveling, astrology, and spending time with her grandchildren. Mom (Grannie) is joyfully remembered for her self-described wacky sense of humour, tenacity, inner strength, and positive outlook on life in the face of many life challenges. She will be forever loved by all and our memories will happily stay with us always. Marie will be lovingly remembered by her husband Louis Williams; daughters, Barbara (Cliff) Lewis, Vivianne (Andrew) Carroll and Heidi Langen; son Dennis (Andrea) Langen; her nine beloved grandchildren, Christopher, Jaymes, Joshua, Julia, Victoria, Rebekka, Mikaela, Quinlan, and Clara; step-sons, Dwight (Hazel) Williams and Carl (Pat) Williams; three step-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren. Marie is survived by many siblings and their families. On behalf of the family, we would like to thank homecare nurses Crystal and Janice for their support and caring. Funeral Service will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Eastside Memorial Chapel (5388 Memorial Drive NE) on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at 2:30p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to the University of Saskatchewan, College of Nursing or to the Canadian Cancer Society (Tom Baker Cancer Centre).
