Obituary of Jan Gerrit Meijer

“You shall indeed go out with joy and be led forth in peace.” Isaiah 55:12 Jan Gerrit Meijer, beloved husband of Margareta Meijer of Calgary, passed away on June 3, 2009 at the age of 74 years. Jan was born on October 1, 1934 in Uithuizermeeden, The Netherlands. Jan worked as a Geologist in the oil and gas industry for thirty three years, working both domestically and internationally. He was also actively involved in his community, serving on the Boards of Calgary Christian School, Foothills Academy, and Grace Presbyterian Church and volunteering for Meals on Wheels. Jan is lovingly remembered by his wife Margareta; daughter Maria Meijer; son Paul (Darla) Meijer; as well as granddaughters Courtney and Kaitlyn Meijer. A Memorial Service will be held at Grace Presbyterian Church (1009 – 15th Avenue S.W.) on Saturday, June 13, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
