Obituary of Nevenka Petonjic

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister Nevenka Petonjic of Calgary passed away at Chinook Hospice surrounded by her family on June 10, 2009 at the age of 63 years. Nevenka was born March 5, 1946 in Bosnia. She immigrated to Canada in 1967 to make a new life for herself. She married her husband Luka in 1969 and they had just celebrated their fortieth anniversary in February. Together they had one son Frank, and two daughters, Janet and Rose. Her passions in life were always for her family, cooking, gardening, walking and swimming. She fought her battle with cancer with strength, determination and the will to live. Nevenka is also survived by her grand daughters Madison and Jadzia; son in law, Jack Rogers; brothers Bogdan Vasic of Nanaimo, BC, Dragan Vasic of Calgary, Stevo of Bosnia; sisters Borka and Sava of Serbia; and nieces and nephews of Calgary. Nevenka was predeceased by her son Frank in 1996.
