Obituary of Ruth Ann Milne

Ruth Milne of Calgary, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at the age of 80 years. Ruth was born January 30, 1929 in Winnipeg, MB. She attended the Winnipeg Children’s Hospital School of Nursing, obtaining her degree in 1951. Following her graduation, Ruth moved to Cleveland where she began her career as the assistant head Nurse for the Cleveland Pediatric Hospital. On June 28, 1952 Ruth married Sydney Milne and in 1956 moved to Calgary, where they raised their three children. Ruth was a loving and devoted wife, mother and nana. She was very proud of her children and grandchildren and always supportive of their accomplishments. Ruth was predeceased by her loving and devoted husband of 25 years, Sydney, on August 1, 1977. Ruth is survived by her loving daughter, Jayne Milne; loving daughter Lois Milne (Dave Pow) and their daughters Jessica and Kristen; loving son Dave Milne (Shirley Arnott) and his children Sydney and Doug; sister Mary Riches as well as her loving companion Bob Fletcher.
